Museum Collection Management Software

Man is born or comes
into the world ignorant;
but he is furnished with the senses, so as to be impressed with the properties of things;
by which means he gradually, of himself, acquires a degree of knowledge.

John Hunter, 1777

One of the great natural history collectors of all time was John Hunter, London surgeon and anatomist of the 18th Century. Click on Cabinet Of Curiosity for more Information.

Accumulatus is software created for museums and collectors to organize, catalog, manage, and share their collections. It can help you know how many items you have, where they are stored, what's on exhibit, what an item's acquisition and use history is, and what's out on loan. Access can easily be controlled by user names and passwords.

Accumulatus can quickly produce a photo album of all your items... or a detailed list of your items by classification... or labels for your latest acquired objects. Reports can be selected and sorted by multiple criteria, including by entry date, acquisition date, collection date, status, and many more.

Accumulatus has many sophisticated abilities, and at the same time, was designed to be flexible and easy to use. It works with multiple, networked users, but also works well on a single PC. Accumulatus offers a full range of features at an affordable cost. Accumulatus works well with both small and large collections. Accumulatus can output reports to printers, and PDF and HTML formats. Photo, PDF, audio, and video files can be attached to each item.

Main Groups

For easy organization, items can be placed in one of seven groups: natural history, art, history, geology, archaeology, anthropology or media/archive. Each group has data fields specifically for that type.

Discipline Classifications

For additional sorting, items can be placed in one of many different discipline classifications such as Herpetology, Ichthyology, Entomology, Ornithology, Mammalogy, Botany, Books, Anthropology, Paleontology, Arms and Armor, Decorative Arts, Fine Arts, Textiles, etc.
